2way Stand Loupe is a small handy fold-able magnifying glass that can stand on its own. Take a closer look at the intricate details of your mobile suit model kits as you work on them using this hands-free magnifying device.
I got mine from a Japan Home Surplus shop, they sell bunch of interesting stuff in there, and one such item is this 2way Stand Loupe which I knew would be very useful for the hobby and maybe some other tasks as well. I paid roughly a couple of bucks for it and I was happy because it is a high quality product. The magnifying power of the glass lens having a size approximately of 45 mm in diameter is not that great but it is fine in most cases, and with ABS plastic for its body it is durable, and most of all it can be stored away easily as it is fold-able.
I can easily imagine a number of situations when working with model kits where this loupe can be very useful. Very useful indeed, especially with the 1:144 scale kits it’s a perfect fit with enough space for your hands holding fine brushes or markers for painting really tiny details on your kits, or when trying to get rid of those pesky nub marks, or even when applying decals especially those really small stickers from the real grade kits.
I may find another device of higher magnifying power, but this 2way stand loupe device will be enough unless I felt the need for a more professional loupe.
